About the Spatial Data Science Symposium Series
The symposium series aims to bring together researchers from both academia and industry to exchange experiences, insights, methodologies, and applications related to spatial and temporal aspects of data science. It supports the discussion of models, representations, simulations, and analyses of spatial processes, as well as the challenges that arise from working with geospatial observations — including uncertainty, heterogeneity, dependencies, bias, and multimodality. The format of the symposia combines keynotes, scientific sessions, and paper presentations, with the community actively shaping the program. In contrast to classical conferences, the emphasis is on interaction and shared exploration, and we therefore welcome submissions for both papers and sessions. The series is organized as an online and distributed event, combining a virtual program with locally hosted get-togethers that allow participants to experience the symposium jointly in person.
